Awkward Questions you get asked on the Radio

A recent male listener phoned into our radio broadcast with the following question:

"If you grant women economic empowerment aren't you afraid that women will take over?"

This question is a typical "thin end of the wedge" question that shows fear of what might happen when we empower women and what this might mean for men? Does empowerment for women mean disempowerment for men?

Here at Inherit Your Rights we believe in equality and justice for all. Our trainings are open to men and women. We believe the men in Tanzanian society open the door for women to have a place at the decision making table..... there is room for both.
