Inherit Your Rights provides access to justice, offering free legal aid and counselling services to women and children in need.

This service is not just limited to widows, but all women and girls who cannot afford legal support and wish to pursue their matters through the Tanzanian justice system. In addition to property and inheritance, we also provide advice and represent clients regarding marital issues, rape and assault and more.

We also hold legal aid clinics, providing legal advice and procedural know-how to women, thereby equipping them for self-representation and pursuing matters on their own.

By creating a safe and confidential environment for women to access legal support, our aim is to assist those facing injustice assert, exercise and defend their legal rights.

Inherit Your Rights' Legal Fellowship Program
​
Through our Legal Fellowship Program, we support recent law graduates in their qualification process,
with the end goal of building up a strong professional body of lawyers committed to human rights in Tanzania.
The three-year Fellowship consists of the following:
​
Year 1: The fellow joins our team as a paralegal and community legal trainer.
​
Year 2: We provide full financial sponsorship to enable the fellow to complete the Post-Graduate
Diploma in Legal Practice at the Law School of Tanzania in Dar es Salaam.
​
Year 3: The fellow re-joins our team as a qualified advocate to continue our legal work in the community.
